Leander ISD Schools by Neighborhood: A Buyer's Field Guide

Quick Answer: Every Leander ISD student attends Leander High School, but elementary and middle school feeders vary by neighborhood, and those feeders move home values. Boon, Anderson, Reed, and Story elementaries carry the strongest premiums, with feeder differences of $20K–$50K visible on otherwise identical homes.

    The One-High-School Model

Leander ISD operates a single comprehensive high school: Leander High School and the Lowery Freshman Center. That structural choice concentrates resources, which is why Leander's marching band, athletics, AP/IB programs, and CTE pathways punch well above what a typical 22,000-student district could fund split across three or four campuses.

    Top-Rated Elementary Feeders

Boon Elementary serves much of west Leander including parts of Crystal Falls and Bryson. Anderson Elementary covers Travisso and surrounding 78641 sections. Reed and Story serve other 78641 subdivisions and consistently earn the strongest test-score reputations.

    Established Leander (78641) Feeders

Travisso, Mason Hills, Cold Springs, and Bryson feed primarily into Cheatham, Olson, Vaughan, and Green elementaries. These campuses are strong but generally do not carry the same resale premium as the top 78641 feeders.

    Middle Schools

Leander ISD operates Curtis, Ereckson, and Ford middle schools. Curtis covers most of west Leander and is the most commonly referenced "premium" middle school in resale conversations.

    How Schools Move Leander Prices

The premium is clearest at the boundary lines. Two homes one street apart, identical floor plans, will price $20K–$50K differently if one is in a top-feeder zone and the other isn't. Always verify the specific assignment through the Leander ISD online boundary tool before making any offer, boundaries adjust periodically.
